The Federal Customs Authority executed 12 community events within the framework of its annual plan for the societal events within the first nine months from 2019, with a percentage of 67% of the targeted events during the entire year amounting to a number of 18 targeted events.
His Excellence/ Mohamed Juma Buosaiba, Director General of the Authority, stated that the Authority's keenness to implement these events stems from the directives and principles of the UAE Vision 2021, within the framework of enhancing the role of Government institutions in serving the community and establishing the values of giving, volunteering and cooperation among the employees in these institutions.
He added that execution of these initiatives reflects the Authority's keenness to promote the societal responsibility, spread the spirit of volunteerism and positive participation among the employees and highlight the Authority's role in the field of social and charitable work, as well as raising the level of community happiness.
He resumed: "The Authority worked throughout the year to execute a number of voluntary initiatives aimed at supporting the needy community groups, including citizens and residents entirely, so that a scheduled plan has been developed to execute these initiatives on the due time".
Buosaiba pointed out that the community's initiatives aimed at establishing the values of goodness and encouraging the volunteerism as a constructive social behavior that contributes to consolidate the bonds of social relations and to enhance the Authority's commitment to the values of community responsibility.
The Director General said that the Community's initiatives of the Authority embody the humanitarian principles upon which the UAE relies, which were founded by the founding fathers through a long march for long years, and he pointed out that these principles boost the human value over the material value.
The events have been carried out in collaboration with a number of governmental and semi-governmental strategic partners and the private sector, including Ministry of Health and Social Protection, Ministry of Community Development, Ministry of Education, Dubai Police, UAE Red Crescent, UAE Board on Books for Young People, Centers for People of Special Needs and People of Determination, a number of Universities, schools, Sharjah Charity Association, Irada Rehabilitation and Treatment Center, Al Ihsan Charity Association, in addition to the Special Olympics World Games - Abu Dhabi 2019, Prime Medical Center and other private sector institutions.
